About Us

Our Trauma Practice

The London Trauma Practice Psychotherapy

At The London Trauma Practice, we understand that navigating life's challenges can be both difficult and overwhelming. Our practise is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment where clients can openly explore their thoughts and feelings without judgement.

We utilise evidence-based techniques, including EMDR and trauma-informed care, to help individuals process past experiences and develop resilience. Our dedicated team of therapists tailor their approach to meet each person's unique needs, ensuring a personalised path to recovery. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, or relationship concerns, we are here to support your journey towards emotional well-being.

The London Trauma Practice was founded by Trauma Clinician Claire Ewart Smith in 2026 after her success with Therapydia, a UK-based psychotherapy practice. The London Trauma Practice was established to provide a unique package of trauma therapies that work effectively together, managed by Claire and her consultant therapists.

The Safety Net

Complex Trauma often exists because something was missing — validation, safety and empathy, for the neglected, abused, and abandoned parts or emotional consistency and a feeling that it is ok to be me — or feeling seen, heard and understood. It might be centred around a single event or a thousand papercuts. The Safety Net is our way back. It is based on theory, it is also based on the relationship with the therapist. They are symbiotic and act as one.

As therapists we need to see what was missing and provide the safety net to allow clients to heal within our care. The Safety Net is Somatic, Parts and Autonomic Nervous System care, it is EMDR or Neurofeedback, Creative therapy and relational work, but ultimately it is the capacity to join all these together and weave them into a core strength.

It is ok to be me.
